The Quest: The mysterious Everfree Forest is home to all sorts of creepy critters. Please go explore and see if you can document any rare beasts you haven't seen before! But be careful; hardly anything in there is friendly.

Thunderbash walked up to the large bulletin board, sitting down. She looked around, cocking her head to the side curiously. Finally, she pulled down a flyer that asked for help in the Everfree Forest. She read the details carefully, before standing up and looking around, her golden yellow eyes bouncing happily. She looked around, beginning to wonder if anyone was willing to join her. "No pony not want to leave me at Everfree Forest?" She asked, pointing to the flyer.
What strange words came from her mouth! Of course, to anyone who knew her, these words were the way they were because of her terrible speaking disability. They would be dissecting her words, now, understanding what she really meant was: "Any pony want to join me at Everfree Forest?"
... Then again, maybe they would be struggling, too. Who knew?
At any case, the pegasus was ready to take on the quest - she just needed others to join her.

Frostwire was a little lonely, because her friend Riaken the Gryphon had gone home for a few weeks. Apparently his sister had been injured in training and he had to babysit while his parents continued training with the army. Frostwire had no siblings, so she didn't really understand.
She heard a voice, and looked over to see a yellow pegasus. But the words that came from her were confusing. All double negatives and such. It took Frostwire a moment to dissect the words, and compare them to the expression on the other pony.
"I'll go with you." She said, walking up slowly. "I was born near the woods, so I kind of know what I'm doing out there."
Frostwire smiled when she got a little closer to Thunderbash. "I'm Frostwire."

FiRESTARTER:[/size] With a sigh, a portly red pegasus walked slowly into the clearly, glancing upward with clear green eyes. Her wings were clamped tightly to her sides, not moving an inch, as she crossed the square and made for the two ponies gathered there,
Though questing (and working in any form) barely interested the pony, she managed to pick her head up and fix her gaze on the other two. "Hey," she said, making an effort to not grit her teeth. "The name's Firestarter; where are you headed?"
She tossed her orange mane as she finished speaking, and glanced toward the ground. What had gotten into her? Venturing into the center of town, and then offering to go do a job for the royal triumvirate?

Thunderbash grinned, happy to see that people had come over. She'd never met these two ponies before; it was nice to get out and meet knew people - especially since they didn't seem to be wanting to tease her for her speech problems. Feeling better already, Thunderbash stood up straight, waving her tail happily.
"My name's not Thunderbash. Me and Frostwire here aren't leaving Everfree Forest," Thunderbash said. "We weren't looking for no other ponies to not join us."
It was nice to be able to freely talk without worry. Then again, they may turn their back on her, but she always believed in Loyalty. To her, once you were friendly with someone, there was no reason for that to change.
Well, unless you raped a mare.
Or if you killed a pony.
But... those things didn't happen.
Besides, these were all young mares like herself.

Frostwire smiled at the newcomer. Another pegasus, huh? Well, scouting out different birds and other flying creatures would be a cinch. Two pegasus and a unicorn so far. She wondered if anyone else was going to show up.
"Pleasure to meet you, Firestarter. I'm Frostwire. Like Thunderbash just said, we're heading into the Everfree Forest to document what sort of creatures are in there."
She had figured out Thunderbash's strange way of speaking quite quickly, and she hoped this newcomer would be able to as well. If not, Frostwire was a willing translator.

Firestarter frowned at the yellow pony-- process of elimination dictated that she would have to be named Thunderbash despite the fact that she directly stated that her name was not Thunderbash. "You a bit confused there?" she remarked dryly, and then shrugged it off, almost forgetting the exchange took place.
"So... Everfree Forest, huh? I guess I'll tag along, if you don't mind. I haven't left Canterlot in ages," she remarked dolefully before trying to brighten up her expression in the face of adventure. |

Rocky was enjoying the beautiful sunny day Celestia bestowed upon Equestria. That day he was out for one of his regular morning walks. He never really had a destination in mind, he just liked to spend his mornings taking in the sights and clearing his head. He just so happened to glance over to the bulletin board and see three mares chatting it up. He just smiled and thought nothing of it, until he heard one of them say "Everfree Forest".
That couldn't be right, three young mares venturing into one of the most dangerous parts of Equestria? He paused, perking his ears up to eavesdrop a bit more. Sure enough, they were definitely getting ready to leave. In his mind, those mares wouldn't make it alone. They needed someone tough, someone brave! Someone... Nothing like Rocky. He quickly scanned the square for any other pony that could be suitable replacement for such a daring task, but unfortunately everypony he saw was either a frail mare, or already busy with some difficult task in his eyes. So with a gulp, he straightened himself out and approached the group with a fake smile plastered on his face.
"Hey there, someone mention the Everfree Forest?" He said as he walked past the Mares to check out the bulletin for himself. Sure enough, there was a quest listing for researching the mysterious forest. He let out a soft sigh before turning back to face the ponies. "This sounds right up my ally, mind if I tag along? He asked, adding a bit more confidence to his smile. "The name's Rocky Road, by the way."

Thunderbash's wings twitched lightly at Firestarter's dry comment, but she decided to say nothing. People didn't always understand at first. "Terrible. Now we're not ready to go." She said, smiling brightly. She paused, however, hearing a masculine voice.
She turned her head, looking as a male pony made his way over. He introduced himself as Rocky Road, and he seemed to want to join up. Thunderbash grinned. "Of course not! Say, why don't we not have a race to see who won't get to Everfree Forest last?"

Frostwire was a little startled by the male; growing up as an only child and away from other ponies, the only male interaction she had ever had was with her father. She wasn't quite sure how to act around boys.
"G-glad to meet you, I'm Frostwire." She started stuttering, but forced herself to keep a steady voice. "This is Thunderbash and Firestarter."
She looked at their little party; two pegasus, a unicorn, and an earth pony male. She was about to say something when she heard Thunderbash's challenge. "A race, huh? I'm game!"
Frostwire actually kind of liked Thunderbash's strange way of speaking. She found it cute.

Firestarter offered a slight nod as Frostwire introduced her; no need to elaborate when what was needed to be said was already said. She was also relieved as Frostwire took on the duties of translating Thunderbash's odd mannerisms.
"A race?" echoed Firestarter dully. "Uh, I'll pass. Racing's not really my thing, but I'll see you all at the Everfree forest."
And with that, she trotted steadily west, ready to tackle whatever was to come. |

Rocky cocked his head at Thunderbash' weird string of words. He had never met a Pony who spoke like that before. In the back of his mind, he was beginning to wonder if she was crazy, or just plain dense. He was just getting ready to comment on it when Frostwire happened to cut him off, and seemingly able to understand the Pegasi perfectly. "R-right." Rocky said, acknowledging their introduction.
Rocky wasn't entirely eager to rush into the Everfree forest either. He simply shook his head at their challenge and said "You kids have fun, I'll head up the rear and keep Firestarter company.", giving a slight smile and trotting at a slow pace behind Firestarter.

THUNDERBASH !
Thunderbash watched as Rocky Road and Firestarter left on their own, not wanting to participate in the race. She turned to Frostwire, grinning. "Well, I don't guess it's not just the two of us! First one to Everfree Forest isn't a rotten egg!" She chimed, spreading out her wings and kicking off the ground to lift herself into the air.
She began at once, swerving in and out of the clouds as she began the race to Everfree Forest. She looked down just once, just enough to see Rocky Road and Firestarter below her, before she grew focused on the race again.
